Assistant Principal- South Kingstown High School- South Kingstown, RI

Assistant Principal at a suburban high school, with 1100 students.  Responsible for supervising Support Staff, evaluating teachers and Support Staff.  Manage the building, ensuring it is a safe and orderly environment. Coordinate an alternative school within a school, hire teachers and manage a budget for the building.  Recently accepted to become a FUSE Fellow with the Highlander Institute, integrating technology in the classroom.  Lead the building in integrating technology into the classroom.  Providing professional development to teachers, administration and parents on the technology tools used in the district.  Oversee 504s for students.  Manage an adjacent building with a budget, teachers and support staff.   Coordinate directly with district technology manager to incorporate blended learning into the classrooms. Supervise extracurricular activities.

United States Army Reserves- LTC- Infantry 

Small Group Leader - Responsible for training, educating and developing field grade officers to be agile, innovative and adaptive leaders to lead organizations under mission command utilizing Unified Land Operations under complex and uncertain environments. Prepare and maintain student enrollment, attendance reports as well as academic records and administration results in accordance with Command and General Staff College and the 10th Battalion’s Instructor standard operating procedures. Actively participate in enrolling, counseling and mentoring students. Assist instructors with faculty support, curriculum, pay and career issues. Attain and maintain all related instructor qualification criteria and documents for accreditation. Ensure Command and administrative tasks are successfully completed by the designated suspense date. Assigned the additional duty as the Battalion Director of Readiness and Recruiting.

Acting Assistant Principal- Esek Hopkins Middle School- Providence, RI

Worked directly with the principal to provide leadership and guidance to the school improvement team, ensuring that the school improvement team’s efforts support the mission, policies and practices of the school district.  Ensure the Providence School Department policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations are followed.  Coordinated the development and implementation of a school discipline policy that is consistent with the Providence School Department policy on student rights and responsibilities and state law.  Prepared a variety of written reports and correspondence.

Nov. 2006 - June 2007

Assistant to the Principal- DelSesto Middle School- Providence, RI

Asked by the district lead team to work at DelSesto High School as an additional administrator.  Worked directly with the complex leader in a building with students in grades, 7 to 12.  Improved relationships between the middle and high school by implementing preventative measures ensuring a safe and orderly environment.

Sept. 2006 - Nov. 2006

Intern to the Principal- Hope High School- Providence, RI 

Worked directly with the principal on all aspects of running the school.  Focused on opening the school for the upcoming year, district learning walks and increasing attendance for the school.  Attended all family engagement activities, faculty and SIT meetings, after school activities and represented the school at district learning walks at other high schools in Providence.  Played an integral part of the school becoming NEASC accredited.

Jan. 2006 - April 2006

Intern to the Principal- Flynn Elementary School- Providence, RI

Worked directly with the principal of an elementary school grades K to 5.  Went on a SALT visit with the principal at an elementary school in Pawtucket.  Focused on getting the school ready for an upcoming SALT visit.   Attended all family engagement meetings, faculty and SIT meetings and led the building in the absence of the principal.  Assisted with scheduling for the following school year, was asked by the principal to extend internship to attend the SALT visit for the school.

Rhode Island Army National Guard – Major – Military Police

Assistant Operations Officer - Primary assistant to the Operations Officer and fourth in command of over 1,100 soldiers.  Advised the commander on mission plans, current and future operations and tactical decisions.  From 2/03 to 4/03 served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad, Iraq.

Oversee the outbound shipping operation of a Fortune 500 courier company shipping an average of 1,500 pieces of freight nightly.

Chaparral Steel – Production Supervisor

Supervise a 12-person team in the production of commercial construction steel, with an annual production goal of 1.2 million tons of steel.  Assist in planning and building the state-of-the-art, 600,000 square foot, $500 million facility from the ground up, providing input and direction based on the operational needs of the department.

Feb. 1994 - Aug. 1998

U.S. Army- CPT- Infantry

-Company Executive Officer (April 1997- Aug. 1998) - Primary assistant to the company commander and second in command of a 129-man light infantry company.  Directly responsible for planning and coordinating all operations, training and administrative logistics.  Oversee all company-level personnel efficiency reporting, award recommendations and unit deployment readiness.  Supervise a thirteen-man company headquarters section.

-Rifle Platoon Leader (April 1994- April 1997)- Responsible for the training, morale and safety of a 34-man infantry platoon. Maintained unit readiness through individual and team training, and developed all training and logistics plans for the platoon. Mentored and counseled four non-commissioned officers with an average time-in-service of 14 years. Led the platoon in preparation for and execution of deployments to Haiti and the Sinai Peninsula.

July 1996 - Dec. 1996

Instructor Central Texas College

While deployed in Sinai, Egypt, taught two entry level college courses for Central Texas College.  Developed course itinerary, lesson plans and gave exams to classes ranging in size from 

8 to 15 students.

June 1985 - Feb. 1994

North Kingstown Recreation Instructor

Supervised an instructional basketball Program for children age 5 to 15 years.  Implemented a

co-ed league for 14 and 15 year old players.
